Mikros Traffic Monitoring (Pty) Ltd – Service Delivery
Established in 1998 during a national government outsourcing initiative, Mikros Traffic Monitoring specializes in electronic traffic data collection services. With over 25 years of operational experience, MTM has earned its position as Southern Africa’s most trusted traffic data service provider.

WEIGH-IN-MOTION
Our Weigh-In-Motion stations offer a reliable solution for monitoring dynamic axle masses and identifying potentially overloaded vehicles. With our advanced sensors and technology, our permanent monitoring stations provide the necessary data for pavement design and overloading trend monitoring.
SPEED VIOLATION MONITORING
At Mikros Traffic Monitoring KZN (Pty) Ltd (Mtmkzn), we take your safety seriously. As the contracted provider for speed enforcement in Kwa Zulu Natal, we utilize advanced technology to monitor roads and ensure that drivers are following the speed limit. Our comprehensive service includes back office operations and a commitment to creating safer road conditions for all.
CONTROL CENTRE INSTRUMENTATION
Mikros is active in the ITS field by providing the systems that monitor traffic and transmit the information in real time to remote control centers. Mikros provides systems and protocols that transmits traffic information over Wide Area Networks (fiber and or wireless). At the control center the data is automatically verified and presented on real time graphical displays.
TRAFFIC DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
TrafBase is a software application developed by Mikros Systems for the traffic-engineering environment. The product was specifically designed to validate, store and manage large amounts of traffic information as collected by traffic logging equipment. Traffic information is made available to a user either in original or summarized form through data files, spreadsheet files and physical reports.
WEIGH BRIDGE SUPPORT & OVERLOAD CONTROL
At the Overload Control Centre sites, we manage the vehicle flow through the premises. If a vehicle is overloaded it is directed to the holding yard to correct the load, then needs to be re-weighed. If the vehicle is within grace and the load correct it is directed out of the premises.
